Dust from home
A project that explores family connections, roots, and homeland
Fernanda Liberti’s photographic project focuses on the exploration of the concepts of migration and repatriation, which have led the photographer to contemplate aspects in line with the theme ‘Connections’: these include connections with one’s own family, homeland, roots, and with Brazil, the country where Fernanda has lived. Dust from Home delves into highly relevant themes that bring individuals together in today’s society.

And They Laughed At Me
«The events in Iran have marked my existence; I’ve been thrust into an endless spiral of drama»
The project reflects on the trap of reactivity to events and the artist’s personal transformation. After leaving Iran, Newsha Tavakolian chose to delve into her past. She focused on reprocessing memories and the challenges of confronting the surrounding reality. By gathering old discarded photographs, imperfect yet significant, she portrays the rawness of life. She observes a shift from youthful hope to disillusionment, photographing Iranian women in protest as a symbol of change. Despite cynicism and the daunting challenges of the past, present, and future, she hopes to preserve these stories as a testament to the awakening of women in Iran and the ongoing struggle between light and darkness.
